NOTICE: THE SCHOOL IS OPEN AS USUAL. Notice of any closure will appear here on a daily basis.
Little Weighton School is a successful small school on the western boundary of Little Weighton, a delightful rural location on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. In addition to the main village of approximately 350 dwellings, our designated catchment area takes in an extensive area of farmland plus the hamlets of Rowley and Riplingham.
Our anticipated number on roll this year is 65 including our part-time Nursery children.
If your child is to join us for the first time we welcome you as parents and look forward to a happy and successful association over the coming years. If you already have a child here we are pleased to be building on our existing links with you.
This website provides current information on the school and its activities, and should be retained as a useful reference guide. The information is (hopefully) correct at the time of publication, but you may wish to update certain details from new information you may receive in school newsletters.
Confidence in a school grows from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. We hope you will extend your knowledge of our school through contact and discussion with myself and other members of staff and by joining us for social, educational or fund-raising events. Similarly, if you have any suggestions about ways in which our communication could be improved, please tell us.
It is important that mutual understanding and trust should be the basis of our newly shared responsibility for your child.
Little Weighton School had an OFSTED inspection at the beginning of December 2007. The report noted that some features of the school’s work are outstanding, and that pupils enjoy their education and are rightly proud of their achievements. Please ask at the school office if you would like to see a copy of the report, which is also available here on Ofsted's Website.
